Local Moves -- How Does It Work?
Maybe you're downsizing, maybe you're upsizing, or maybe you're just moving to a different apartment as far away as you can get from a soon-to-be ex-roommate you'd rather not talk about. You need to move in town and you'd like some help with the sweaty and difficult task of moving every last one of your things from old place to new. Well, you've come to the right place
The first step is to call us for an over-the-phone estimate. We'll ask you a few simple questions in a friendly, non-threatening way to get the information we need: Namely, how big is your place, and how full of stuff is it? We charge by the hour for local moves, billing on the quarter of an hour, and we'll give you an estimate range based on the time we think your move will take. We also add a flat half hour drive fee for all moves in the Coralville/Iowa City area, and collect full payment upon completion of the move. (The chart below will give you an idea of estimated charges for particular moves, but we can usually fine-tune the estimate based on additional information you provide.)
When you reserve your date, we'll send an email confirmation for your move and a questionnaire for you to fill out so that we can be sure we're prepared for your move. For example, we want to know if you have any special items requiring extra care and attention -- like grandfather clocks, pianos, or glass-fronted cabinets -- so that we can bring the materials and equipment we need to move them safely.
Then, a day or two before the move, we'll check in by phone or email to make sure everything's all set to go.
On move day, your crew leader will call en-route to your home to let you know they're on the way. Your crew will work safely and efficiently to make your move as smooth and painless as possible. If you have any special concerns or questions, please feel free to direct them to your crew leader.
